I started, bumped shoulders, and finished 17th out of a fill field of 50.
Longer story: I was kinda nervous, and concerned about being able to hang. Well those concerns were not warranted. I had no problem moving around in the pack, moving from the rear to the top 5 was not hard. I was never in trouble, and had plnty of reserves. Being my first crit I was not concerned with the sprint finish. Im kicking myself now. I have plenty. I moved from about 35th in the last corner to 17th and never sprinted out of the saddle. Now I have a better idea about positioning and will be better off next race.
What a blast that was, I loved it and cant wait for my next race.:D

Good job Sean. It is amazing how the more you do this the more the race slows down. I don't mean that it is easier, it just becomes less of a blur and you can see where you need to be......so says the guy who barely has double-digit races under his belt.

Thanks Tony. It actually got faster, but it didnt feel like it. As I got more comfortable it just got funner.
Hi Sean,
Nicely done! :)
First crits experiences can be so extreme -- they're great or they're horrible -- usually not much in between. Glad yours was on the good side.
BTW, I presume you were on your Specialized.

Yes I am riding the Tarmac exclusively, I love it. I actually have 2 of them. One with a standard double and one with a compact. I rode the compact today. I actually only used 2 gears for the entire race, and a third on the final run in to the line.
The only thing I dont like is that some of these guys act as if they are getting paid big money for a top 10. Perhaps its just in the 5's, but based on the crash's today:rolleyes: Im not so sure.
It was actually a great day for the team as a whole. Although a few were crashed out we had several podiums and the womens pro1/2 team took the majority of the primes and the win, they also won the RR yesterday.:D
