Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

After purchasing a used beater bike last year, The time has come to upgrade to a roadbike after a long winter it was nice to be on the streets of brooklyn again. I have new bike on the mind the $ To spend. I'm going to three different bikeshops and telling the what I want (A road bike with pedals and a computer.) My budget ($1500) and my concerns (mainly my weight I'm 265). First store was the Trek store of Brooklyn and they were great even did a mini fitting after I told them I wasnt buying today. There recommendation was a LeMond Tourmolet (http://trekofbrooklyn.com/itemdetails.cfm?catalogId=39&id=517) I was in love and I think this is the bike and the store. Tommorow I'm going to two other shops that I know. And I'll post my other findings. Any advice or recomendations are greatly appreciated.

My advice. Go with the LBS that treats you the best and if you can get recommendations from other riders in your area. Most bike stores will be able to get you on the bike you want and get you fitted properly.

As I agree with flip, but get routinely ignored on this forum anyway, you may want to stay away from Lemonds right now. Trek has severed ties and no longer distributes Lemond bicycles. Warranty service may never happen.
