sounds like your weekend went better than mine... Were you in the cat. 4 race? I made a couple big mistakes including finding myself at the back and i ended up getting dropped in the road race and the crit. The TT was the strongest stage but still not great. I got 31 avr. 21mph. Not a fan of that hill. Sounds like you did pretty well though. Are you doing anyother red rose races?

We did the 3/4 as a team. I've done a handful of the Red Rose races this year, and after June I'll probably do most of the rest of their schedule. I've heard they'd had a bad rap the last couple years but they seem to be running a good show. Just wish the roads were rolling enclosure, because honestly - if you weren't cheating the yellow line, you might as well not have been competing in the road race. And it's been that way in all the Red Rose races I've done this year.

I feel that way sometimes too - about training more than racing. There's something about it that gets my blood moving. But after my weekend of being completely demolished in the Master's race, I started thinking differently. I want to continue to improve to watch myself get better in races like these. Working with a team more. Doing what I can until I pop. Having a bro do well in the end. It makes it worth doing.
Have a good one.

Overalls aren't posted yet, but http://www.redroseraces.com is the race promoter.
I thought the westwood velo boys would be turnin' the screws at ephrata, am I understanding that evo rode a sensible race? that would be unprecidented.:D
Nomad - are you doing poolesville or turkey hill this coming weekend? or something else? Man, I wish poolesville and turkey hill didnt conflict every year, poolesville is a cool unique race that is 10 miles from my house, turkey hill is IMO probably the best road race in the mid atlantic area. Too bad cant do both.

Nope.. promised the wife a break after Ephrata, so a break it is. I'm good with it, and after Battenkill, I'm not up for any more hard packed dirt roads right now (ala Poolesville). Only two races on the schedule until late July probably. I'll squeeze in some Greenbelt stuff for mid-week intensity training, but nothing of any priority.
This is two races in a row that I've been at with Evo representation (Mt Joy and Ephrata) that they've ridden a pretty solid race in the 3/4's.

Nomad: Reading that post it seems like you're getting kinda down on racing. You're strong as hell, and it seems like you just maybe need to tone the volume back a little bit to get your racing legs under you, and try to be tactically smarter - rather than trying to drop weight and bang out 4+hr rides during the peak of racing season.
Thats my .02, take it for what it's worth man. You train your ass off, and I think you deserve to win some races :)

^The first break should have survived, as it had great representation, and with the 3 guys I dragged up to it + me, there would have been 8 of us. Unfortunately, the guys that sat on my wheel went way too hard when we got to the break, popped me off the back, and blew the break up a lap later.
