Holy global climate change, snow possible in W. Pa on Tuesday. Just thinking about stashing the long johns for a couple of months but not now.
Interestingly, just finished a book about the formation of the Grand Canyon. The author talked about how climate change impacted the GC. He also stated that we are currently in the middle of an Ice Age!!

I flew over the Dakotas today, snow everywhere. We passed over at least 200+ miles of white covered ground. Then in western Minnesota, there was a very distinct line where the white ended and the green/brown began.

92 degrees today in Tucson. . . can I take off my arm warmers now?

Snow showers predicted several nights this week at our ski area east of Seattle and the base elevation is only 3,000'. Weird.

No. Ninety-two is still below body temperature. You could catch your death of cold. Now bundle up.
They're threatening snow showers around here too. This is on a day where the temps are forecast to be in the mid-40s for a high, and upper 30s for a low. Somehow, that doesn't seem to me to be conducive to snow.
Then again, it is the forecast from The Hyperbole Channel™, where they'd forecast the sky was falling if it gave them an opportunity to windmill their arms in front of the map.
But I've only lived here for 51 years and don't have a degree in Hyperbole, so what do I know?
However, snow this late in the season is not unprecedented. I distinctly remember on May 1, 1962 brushing snow off the tulips in the back yard so I could pick them for the May Basket we made in school that day.

You can remember 1962?
I can barely remember my ride into work this evening. :(

That is also my understanding. Before the introduction of excess carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, we were starting a cooling period and heading, ultimately, for another ice age. For the short and medium term, because of the greenhouse gas effect, that cooling trend has been mitigated.

Right now it is 39 here and is snowing hard. None of it is sticking though.
Given as how it was in the 70s for most of the last week, the people in my office are taking up a collection to send me back out to California, or pretty much anywhere else.

It's 90 degrees here today, yesterday, and probably tomorrow.

Very strange.............here they are taking up a collection to keep you there. This is begining to look a lot like campaign finance............

It's 90 here and not even noon yet! Global what? I do not buy into the "Global Warming Theory" and it's sketchy science.
I remember being forced to go to "Six Month Weather Briefings" while flying helicopters in the Pacific Northwest. They couldn't tell me if White Pass was socked in at the moment (Send us a Pilot Report Please) and they expected us to believe they could forecast the weather for six months.

I'm in So Cal near Dig Gee... yesterday on my ride the temp topped at 101. I felt icky afterwards. I hate hot weather! Saturday wasn't much better so we had a sucky weekend. It's suppose to be cooler tomorrow and clouds are moving in but there's also a wildfire in the local mountains so now smog is really bad. Might have to hit the gym tomorrow instead of riding outside. :(

Perhaps I will finance my next vacation by conducting a contest wherein I will not visit the location of where the highest bidders live.

Dag nab it! It is now down to 37 and still snowing. Over the past hour, I've heard two people in the hallway talking about moving out of Wisconsin. It has been years since it has been this cold and snowy in late April.

Well not exactly the authors take. We spent the better part of a day with him and geolgists idea of a blink of an eye is 10,000 years. For example the Glen Canyon Dam with an expected life of 275 years has no real impact on the erosion of the canyon. Warm up is part of the natural cycle of the earths climate which has been changing for the last 4 billion years and will continue to change.

I'm glad I took leg warmers and a light jacket this morning in No VA. 50F with a breeze is starting to feel chilly.
The next cold day is scheduled for a mid May Friday - Ride to Work Day. It is invariably a nasty weather day.

Don't care about whether the average temperature is going up or not- but facts say that 1998 was the hottest year since records began- previous to that- the record was 1997. Since 1999- we have had 6 years when the average has been higher than 1997.
It is not just the fact that the temp is rising- Here in Northern Europe we are getting warmer dryer winters and cooler wetter summers. And the air quality from pollution is dropping tremendously.
All I want is a summer when I can ride without the waterproofs- And that the frost and ice stay in december and January and not get extended into April.
