Folks who ride on Linda Vista Road (Lida Street) between Glendale and the Rose Bowl might be interested to know that the City of Glendale is considering adding stop signs at the intersections of Linda Vista and Figueroa and Linda Vista and Dunsmere.
This is being considered mostly to allow left turns to and from a single driveway at a home near the crest of the hill, which are currently prohibited because of inadequate sight distance.
In January, the traffic engineers had proposed to make the signs and temporary barriers discouraging turns permanent. Now, a city council member is interested, and their former reluctance to allow turns by adding stop signs has disappeared, much to the potential future annoyance of bicyclists and drivers climbing or descending the hill, all so one homeowner can turn left without having to build another driveway or pay for other mitigation measures.
Details are on the City's web site (large PDF files):
New proposal, to be considered at the meeting on April 28 (TONIGHT):

(see pages 3 and 4 for discussion of stop signs)
If you're interested, the Glendale Transportation & Parking Commission will be considering this item at its meeting on Monday, April 28 at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 613 East Broadway, Glendale.
