I'm wondering if anyone here has a list of manufacturers who produce a bike with an internal gear hub. I'm thinking of possibly getting something in the future (a whole new bike) and having a list of where to start would help.

A lot of manufacturers do, but you need to narrow down your style./ Do you want a low cost 3 speed, a high-zoot 14gear Rohloff or something inbetween (5,7,8). Relaxed short-range utility, sporty urban transport or rugged touring style?
Ive been looking for a sporty 8speed with disk brakes (Shimano Alfine):
Giant Escape R-Sub Zero
Dahon cadenza
Brodie
If you forgoe disc brakes then Bianchi Cameleonte

You're right. This will be a commuter - 700cc or 26" no preference. Otherwise I'm pretty open to frame makers - as long as they have the ability to add a rack for panniers and fenders all makers are fair game.

From a cost and reliablity stand point nothing beat a 3sp. English type
city bike. Raleigh made millions of them so a used bike should be easy
to find. For the most part any 3spd bike is almost bulletproof for utility
uses.

Here's proof that 3 sps are durable. This one is a repainted 45 year old example!

There a bunch of them out there. Are you looking for a City Bike with the upright riding position or something a bit sportier?
In the City Bike category you have:

Redline R530
Specialized Globe
Biria
KHS Green
Breezer
Schwinn Coffee

These are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head. I know there are many more. Finally the market is starting to catch up! Most if not all of the ones listed above come with fenders, some with racks and even some with built in lighting systems.

I have ordered Redline R530 and will post a review when I get it and have a few miles on it.
