I have an old Trek 1100 with what appears to be a hybrid XT front derailleur (triple) that must be replaced. As long as I state the tube size and that it is a triple, would the sora, 105 and ultegra be interchangable as a replacement. I have already switched from tube shifters to sti.
thanks

Thanks, but since the difference in cost is very small my intent was to move up to at least the 105 level.

When ordering try to get the following:

Front D is of type BRAZE ON
Order a CLAMP that fits your seat-tube (the clamp converts braze on). A lot of places sell them as a kit.

That way if you have to replace the Front D in the future you can simply get a braze on type... or if you move the groupo to a new frame you may only need a new clamp.

Yea go with the 105 or Ultegra.
