i'm thinking about trading in my cs300 for a cs400 because i don't like the whole watch mount thing so i currently have the cs300 & my old bike computer. also i want an altimeter. one question i have about the cs400 is...

...can the heart rate functions (and intervals) be used when not on the bike? i.e. if i want to use it in the gym, in a spin class or on the occaisional run?

any other feedback on the cs400?

The CS400 mounts just like the CS200. I had thought about bringing mine to spin class and sticking it to the handle bars with double stick tape or that big heavy wide self adhesive velcro. Then my CS200 broke and I bought an S720i and am very impressed with the amount of data presented in the graphs once you figured it out and get the Polar Performance software and IR interface installed. Now after a ride I upload and look at:

So I'm not so against the watch mount anymore.
Edit: Now I wear it on my wrist at spin class and have the altimeter too, but the CS400 was my other choice for the altimeter reason.

Move your cursor all the way to the right b4 you copy your file. This way, it'll show what you accomplished at the end of your ride (time, distance, ascent, etc.), and not just the 0's you started your ride with. ;)

I use my CS400 on the stationary and it works fine as an HR only. The HR zone info is still hlepful. However I have an S120 watch style that makes better sense for the gym.

That was just a sample of my ride to work last Thursday. I think I had my cursor on lap 2 marker but my screen capture didn't catch the pop-up summary of that lap. All the totals are at the bottom anyway. I just got the S720i and still have much to learn about it. I'll experiment with cursor placement.

Thanks,
