Hi all,

I have been an avid cyclist for 35 years. I usually ride to work (20 miles each way) once or twice a week.
Now I want to ditch the car because of high cost of commuting and want to build an e-bike.
I am an experienced bike mechanic and electrical engineer so I have all the skills.
What i need help with is selecting components such as hub motor, battery packs etc.
My goal would be to cruise at 20 mph and a range of at least 20 miles, I can pedal some to help.
What would be a good size hub motor for this and who makes them.
The batteries seem to be the most expensive item. I don't want to mess with SLA, so NiMH or LION would be preferable. Is a standard mountain bike frame strong enough to handle the extra weight and stress?

Thanks - joel
