I took Off from my house in Auburn and cruised up to the Rainier entrance at ipsut creek ( The route of the May day metric) next week to check out the hill on my bike. Then I cruised down to the Valley to the Kent area and then back south to Sumner and then up to Mcmillan and then up to the BonneyLake plateau via that hill that some of you will remember on the 98 mile mark of the Daffy classic. Then around Lake Tapps and home. It was raining so hard going up to the mountain this am that I got some real "that guy is an idiot" looks from the drivers. Oh well, I sort of felt like half an idiot doing it. I just put my head down and got my work done and soon I was peeling off layers. :p The hills for the may day metric didn't seem too bad. I hope there is a good turn out.

Good for you!
I looked out my window this morning thinking bad thoughts about mowing the lawn in the rain. Two hours later it was as sunny as can be. Just an hour ago it was back to rain, with thunder and lightning.
I did get my lawn mowed :D !

eAst hill. thanks for the props. Maybe mrs. noggin and I will see you on the 4th if you are going. Nog
Sounds like an awesome ride today, Richard! Good job! You need specifics, though. How long were you out? What were you riding? Did you collapse into an only moderately coherent puddle after you were done?

Yes, I'm definitely planning on being there at the May Day Metric, so we will need to do a meet and greet.
As unix says, details, details!
I know I would be almost incoherent after that effort, and certainly a puddle after the rain :p .

Well, I was working on a few things...sort of experimenting if you will. last week after doing an 80 miler I was more tired than I should have been....but I really did not feed and hydrate myself optimally. This time I carried a 3 ltr camelback that I slung to my back filled with Accelerade mix and I ate every hour something...nuts, goo, candy. I met mrs. noggin at 70 mile point where she joined me for 40 and allowed me to drop my coat and also brought 3 more liters of accerade. I also have been working on trying to concenterate on increasing my cadence. I really did well at keeping at 85-90 range which is good for me. I think overall this made me slower but in long run I think I will gain that speed back. My times are nothing spectacular. 7:50 rolling time. 8:30 total time. 15.5 mph
Actually I felt really good when I was done. My legs where not sore. Not too tired. and With my hydration /feeding cycle I don't have the munchies like I normally would.
