I've been posting on a couple of forums since I'm so excited about my new frameset from Sam Whittingham (Lance Armstrong bought his show bike at NAHBS 2008).
He took some photos and so I wanted to post them for you to see. It's my interpretation of a "club racer". I don't race, but wanted a comfortable bike for longer rides with the option of singlespeed/fixed down the road. The Paul's dropouts with a derailleur hanger makes it versatile. The custom stem and fork add to the classic look.
I am by far no expert, but the level of detail in the workmanship, Very Nice.

Nice. I see you are going with black handlebars even though you are using a chrome-colored stem. I may do the same, despite having reservations early on.

Very, very nice. I saw Sam's bikes at NAHBS, including the one Lance bought. They were all drool-worthy.

The handlebars are almost new from another bike. This bike now has black bar tape as well, although I do have a new set of silver bars for it!
Glad you guys like it!

what a coincidence, I talked to sam today for the first time, inquiring about some ss couplers, id never heard of his bikes before, sort of...Last night i stumbled on this post, and not being familiar with naked bikes i thought it, as the first picture would seem to the unreading/unknowing, a thread about frames not yet built up but painted, looked at the pics and close the window...hehe silly me, small world.

I dig the funky rear dropouts. I wonder how hard it is to get a wheel out of there?
Nicely finished bike.

Not super easy. Went for a three plus hour ride - felt amazing! Loving this frameset...

very nice.......I just can't help thinking how much cleaner it would look with a threaded headset and quill stem......but I am probably just jealous :)

Well, I just got some Chris King headset spacers in green - just need to get around to taking some new photos. I think it's a nice accent... I had the option of getting a threaded headset and quill stem, just felt like a modern touch.

Hi There -

I was just going to ask about this... horizontal dropouts with a derailleur hanger /or hortizontal drop outs on a cross bike... are there any dangers or does the horizontal dropouts allow for better chain tension/safety ?

Nice Bike! The fender mounts appear quite prominent in the photos, are you planning to mount fenders?
I'm starting to design a frame myself that I am planning to have Naked build.

At the moment I'm not planning to mount anything yet. I did insist on having them just in case. They don't really stick out when looking at the complete bike.
Thanks for the nice comments.

Wow. Sam is the man.
Also, did you know he's the fastest person in the history of the human race?

That bike is very nice, I figured I would share my naked pics and complete ones too.
Thank you! I'm hooked now and I want to restore more bikes. Since I did this at my parents house my moms on my case about not having a helmet when i ride so I grabbed my old helmet and had to paint it to match the bike :thumb: I still have to adjust the seat before my next ride though...
'Naked' is the name of the small workshop that crafted the frame. I think it won an award in Hand Made Bike Show

Sorry for the long delay in adding to this post, been busy riding! Here's a pic of the bike at a quick stop during my four hour ride today.

why horizontal drops with a derialer? is that something new? Yeah, brand new technology, never been done before. Will be sweeping the pro ranks; by this time next year I'm sure everyone will be on them.
Keep an eye out for "toe clips" and "straps", as well. Clipless is about to be obsolete!

what tubeset is it built from and what color green is that? i love the look of that frame and the matching stem is the cherry on top!!
f1junkie

The tubeset is Columbus Zona, and the green is a PPG colour that I'm sure of the exact code. Thanks for the comments, it's a great bike to ride and to look at!
And yes, the horizontal dropouts are in case I decide to turn the bike into a singlespeed, fixed, or singlespeed cyclocross ride. It has long reach brakes also "just in case"... I like versatility!

Went on a 4 1/2 hour ride - I decided to take some photos with my camera phone to help document why I enjoy waking up early and going out for hours on end...
When I go in the morning I get a nice view of the local scenery... Here's a golf course.
