Foo - Children held captive for years by grandfather/father

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
A woman was locked in the cellar of her father's house since 1984 and had six of his children. HOW could the police believe that grandmother didn't know???

Well aren't you the little ball of sunshine this morning, with posts like this one.
That story is very, very disturbing for many reasons.
I read about this last night. It's just so completely beyond awful, I don't even think there are words to describe it.
It also reminded me of the X-Files episode "Home (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_%28The_X-Files%29)," which really didn't help matters. *shudder*

Spouses and other people close to abusers usually do know but pretend they don't/block it out. Abusers often are also narcissistic and their spouses are attracted because they compliment each other - one thinks the world revolves around them and the other thrives to do things to make the person happy.

Agree she must have known something was amiss, but probably tried very hard to make sure that she never found out for definate because then she'd have had to act.

I heard somewhere that they never re-ran the 'home' episode after first airing since it was so disturbing.

The story wasn't wrong.
It's the ordeal that people were forced to undergo that was wrong. Treatment of people that way for that long is far past inexcusable! Indeed, there are no words to acurately and specifically describe what occurred in this and other accounts.
I did not mean that the story was inaccurate....

I was also pointing out that the story is not the type that can be easily manufactured, trsidn.

I saw that story on the news last night. Locking your kids in the basement is terrible.
That's why I keep mine locked in the attic.

If it's like Michigan, we'll get to see pictures that are updated regularly. :D
If they don't kill him, he WILL be bruised up, cut up, and possibly in casts.
