Hey guys, I plan to ride tonight but not with the group. I am going to get a TT fit today and then will try the new position ... so I need to ride alone. I want a flatter route than we take (like the TT course) so I can experiment with my power threshold and fit. I probably won't see you at the bar. Have a great ride.

Rob, interested in riding with me? (no drafting of course. ;))

Out giving stump speeches. Touting my change credentials. Lying about my record. Kissing hands and shaking babies. The usual.

Vote CyLowe '08!

Whoa! You take my fit advise and not pay me? :notamused:

Sorry guys....I was at the IMTS show in downtown on the Sandvik bus and didn't make it back to Schaumburg until after 6. They were giving away GPS units as door prizes and I mentioned that I could have gotten us back sooner if I had gotten a GPS unit or 2.

....actually I mentioned it a lot.

Had the bike in the car ready to go. I blame traffic. Hope you all had fun!

So how about a ride report guys? Was it a hammerfest?

I did an hour in tt position and a 20 minute 300 watt effort to set a target for Saturday's TT.

A TT is all about pain buddy, not lightbulbs

Missed you two. There were just 5 of us. Alien 2 was back on form and Dejan took some long speedy pulls. Cylowe was not feeling well and cut it short (hope you feel better :thumb:) and I'm working on a cold. We ended up with a 21.4 average.

Spicey...I wish I was there. I was sooooooo PO'd. The outfit that had chartered the buses for us figured out everything yesterday so today's transport went off without a hitch. We made it back to Schaumburg by 5:00. I would have had plenty of time had they done that yesterday.

....so instead I went out to eat "entertainment" style and way overate....and drank. So...feeling a little stomach pooch today. :(

Welcome to the board! ;)

I am out for five weeks (rest of season I'm sure). No, nothing happened, the wife committed us to something on Tuesday nights :twitchy:

I'll see y'all at Psimet's ride this weekend though, right?!

alien2...is that you??!!! *sniff - wipes tear from corner of eye* :thumb:

I am in 4-sure. Still have to "un-TT" the Giant. That or I will ride the Flyte with the Campy...only that thing is a heavy pig...no chance of hanging with that....so...if you all want to slow down I can save myself a night of work....

.....HHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA....

*goes downstairs to begin wokring on Giant*

Hey Colorchange, next TT get rid of the triathlon water bottle! What's next...pinning your number to a race belt...or are you going to wear a sports bra? (I think they like to call it a singlet, but who's kidding whom.) Those who can't race, TRI.

Nice time though...the conditions easily cost you 3 seconds.

Allright....last call for alcohol....I need to start heading that way. The earlier we leave the better so I will get there as early as I can....if we all get there we can rollout. Drop a line here if you are planning on coming (or just call one of us) so we know to wait up....

Another classic hammerfest. Psi won the first sprint and I actually won the finish (despite a rapidly closing falcon). He had some trouble clipping in after crossing a highway and just waited too long to make his move. ;) I had a breakaway for 15 miles (is it a breakway if the other guys held up?) so I pulled a long time. This was the strongest I've ridden in a while. :)

Sun is due to set at 6:48 tomorrow. I would suggest that anything after 5:30 would be insane at this point. We left at 5:20 last Thursday and ended up finishing right at dusk but took a longer route.

5:15 would be the smart play, but just don't know how many can make it at that time. I must ride this Tuesday because it may be my last chance to get on the bike until the Fall Fling.

I don't know how many more weeks we can do this, but this one or the next may be my last for the season. Think I might switch to the Bicycle Heaven cross ride with lights on Tuesdays...:D

I am in 4 sure. timmyquest said he might be in as well. At 5:15 we will be finishing in the dark. Sun sets at around 6:30. I'd like to roll out at 5 this week if at all possible. I understand if it's not.

If we start later we will have to cut the route to 1 loop.

Either way I think this is the last week where we even have a chance of doing 2 loops. Next week will most likely be 1 loop for sure...and a more reasonable starting time...

...next week may also be when I shift over to the Bicycle Heaven cyclocross ride....
....just sayin...

CyLowe, you're from my area right? Is there a quicker way to get there avoiding Algonquin road? I had to go to Dundee Crown (Carptentersville...yuck) last friday for a football game around this time of day and it was horrible at 62 and 31...i'd like to avoid that if i can.

I'm out. Stay safe out there tonight, all.

Timmy, just take the I-90 tollway to Route 59. Take 59 north past 72 and then take a left on Penny Road. The pub is just past the train tracks on the left at Penny & Old Sutton.

If it's too much a pain to get to the tollway, then try Huntley Road down through to C-Ville and then across Dundee Ave (IL-68) to Penny Road. It's going to be a chore in any direction, really. Sorry.

62 and 31 is where my office is. You coming from north or south of there? 62 is a quick, straight shot to the riding area IF you can catch it east of the river (like, by going up 25).
