Well I thought it was time to post a pic or two of my new bike. I lurked here for a while, gathering information and inspiration from everyone here.

On April Th I went to my LBS armed with the knowledge I got here bought a 2007 Trek 7.2 FX. I have also added a Trek Incite computer, seat bag with a patch kit and inflater, bar ends, grips, and just today good old fashion toe clips. I really wasn't ready for clipless, but man having my feet attached to the pedals made a big difference.

I have 166 miles on it since I bought it and I love it. Started this quest to get into some kind of shape back on January ST when I took my 9 year old daughter ice skating and thought I was going to die. 5'11"
261 lbs, and 46 years old I was in bad shape. Thanks to some weight lifting and know my bike I am down to 222 lbs.

I guess the point of this thread is just to thank everyone here for getting me going. Reading your posts has helped me tremendously.

Thanks.

Nice bike! I have the same model at home and find it quite versatile -- everything from short rides with Mrs. AirBeagle to a mountain biking duathlon last fall, all without issue. For longer distances/higher speeds I did pick up a road bike, but shy of that venue, the flexible 7.2FX seems like a trooper... Best wishes on many enjoyable miles!

Congrats on the weight loss. Nice bike and I am sure your daughter will thank you for doing what it takes to be around for a very long time.

Hey, did you take my bike?? :D

Nice choice! I love mine, it's treated me well despite me treating it like a horse. Happy riding!
