BMX - New to BMX.

Well, I last rode one when I was 11, I got a Kuwahara Nova when I was 8 (Back in 1983!) then when I was 11 I got an MTB.
I mainly do Road and XC Riding but there is an awesome, and I mean AWESOME new BMX track (Olympic standard) opened about 7 miles away from me and I need to ride it!
What sort of BMX would be best for track racing? I have no interest in park/street riding, just razzing round a track with jumps as fast as I can...
I live in the UK, I'm 6'2", 205lbs (athletic, not chubby!), preferable budget under £200 ($400)...

I'd look at one of the Pro-sized complete race bikes by Intense, Redline, or even Kuwahara. But you may have to up your budget a bit.
Or a cruiser would fit well for your size. Again, those brands would do well.

As far as your budget is concerned, look into a GT racing bike. I'm not sure, but I think that you can buy a Mongoose Supergoose in UK as well. Reline is one of the best, but they can be a little pricey. Whatever you do, make sure your bike has three piece cranks. There are two types for racing. Chromoly (steel) tubular 3 pieces are flexible and strong, whereas solid aluminum three pieces are stiff and snap easily. So, if you want to hit a lot of jumps, go with the tubular, but if you want to have quick acceleration and good response, go with the solid. To give you an idea, Redline Flight cranks are tubular and most Bulletproof cranks are solid.

Get something that is Pro XL, they have a longer toptube. And about $400-$500 should be good. Try to get at least a 21" TT. And GT, Redline, Intense, and Haro all make pretty good completes. I ride a GT Powerseries Pro and it's great, but I'm only 5'4".
