We wore our rim past the wear indicator line on our last trip. I managed to find a pair of 36h 349mm rims and J Gaerlan graciously agreed to build them even though he doesn't like reduced spoke count wheels. It's for my 110 pound partner. The trick now is to figure out what to do with the rear 135mm hub. I want the rear to be 24 spoke, which means either a 24 hole hub (ideal, but I don't think they exist in 135mm) or a 36h hub. That knocks out American classic. Any thoughts?

Bike Friday uses 36 hole hubs on 24 spoke wheels. The ones on my 1994 Pocket Rocket Classic have yet to break a spoke. Roger

I used a 130mm AMC road hub for my Swift - just put a 1mm spacer on each side, the frame flexes imwards for the small remainder. So go the AMC 24h.

Many thanks! That's helpful. Maybe I can fit a longer axle on a 130mm hub.
