Hey all.. I am a mountain biker who does XC and DH, but this year I found a new world in Cyclocross. When the XC and DH races end in September, there is a long wait for summer again... CX runs those cold winter months and although I have yet to race, I've been out at least getting shots while I build up a cross bike... check it out, here's what Cross racing looks like in Ottawa, Ontario:

No.. I missed that one because I was in Toronto visiting family. I will be at the next one for sure! Did you go to any of the ones that I have photos of already? Any photo you want of you is always free! Just give me the link, and I'll forward you the hi-res original.

Make sure you come and say hi at the next race... I'm the one with the camera! :) It's so cool that locals are on this site too!! Good work Joe!! (Not me, Joe Gardner!)

Hey Matt,

I was at Upper Canada and I thought I recognized you. Having never met you in person, I wasn't entirely sure. You ride a Kona JS, don't you? I was the guy on the singlespeed Seven.

I didn't have one of my better races at Upper Canada...bailed hard on the 2nd lap on the hairpin gravel turn. The crash left my left brake lever bent in 45-degrees. I had to stop and bash it back out. Lost several positions.

I then had my rear wheel come loose in the dropouts, which caused excess brake-rub.

Managed to finish though.

Ride Hard,
Mike B.

hey! mike! that was you! :) we were talking about you and your bike on the ride back, actually. my buddy tim [master c, rides a blue redline and wears a green ireland jacket] said "now that's the way to do cross!].

i haven't been having the best of seasons because of persistent health issues [i seem to be getting cold fairly regularly], but ucv was fun.

i'll be at sunday's race with my crew. i am, indeed on a yellow kona major jake with campy bits. i'd like to actually get acquainted with you and joe-mtbkanata.

no... i wasn't feeling well. i actually bailed on my ride at 6:30 sunday morning.

two of my friends were there: andre [trek x01, wearing jogging shoes] and jessica [blue trek 8000 mtb, she apparently did quite well].

sounds like it was a blast, i'm sorry to have missed it.
