If anyone else plans to see the main solo start for RAAM2008, please let me know. I plan to pop by the Oceanside Pier around 11:30 on June 8 to watch the noontime start, so look for the red-and-white Capo road bike or the red-white-and-blue Schwinn mountain bike. The late start caught me by surprise -- they have traditionally started at noon EDT, rather than noon PDT.

I'll find out if my club-mate David Jones is doing it again. He finished last year at 61, the oldest official solo finisher. Last year one of the SoCal BF members did the 2 man team and when they passed David in Ohio the crew cheered him by name. He told me later he got a real kick out of that because he had no idea who they were. The power of Bike Forums.
