Has anyone else noticed that old school style is coming back for BMX? For instance, tall handlebars, hub guards, straight cables, slim seats, etc. It's kinda neat.

yea alot of that coming back. all we need is some plastic dough nut pegs and flipdowns...
They now have plastic pegs, so you probably have something there. And flipdowns and standers are awesome, but the people on ebay want way too much since most were made by GT.
one thing Ive noticed, especially where i am, is white handlebars. they're poppin up everywhere.
Yeah to white handlebars. Also, a lot of people are wondering why bikes aren't really chromed anymore. I found out why after I cracked a hi-tensile chrome frame just by doing bunny-hops. Hydrogen is used in chroming metal. Sometimes, the hydrogen is trapped between the chrome and the metal. When the metal is stressed (as in hopping), the hydrogen will pierce into the metal and crack it. Sometimes you can't see the cracks and the metal will make a small creaking sound. For these reasons, planes aren't chromed anymore either. Since retro seems to be in, I've noticed that a lot of makers are using a clearcoat over chrome paint or over a raw frame to give a bike the metal look.
