Bicycle Mechanics - Cannondale Hollowgram Si chainring question

Hi everybody!
I'm next to buy '06 Cannondale Six13 Team 1 Compact Drive (http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/06/CUSA/model-6TC1C.html) and got 1 question concerning BB30 crankset. Is it possible to replace 50-36 chainrings to regular one's 53-39 e.g. Shimano Dura-Ace? Does anyone know the exact params of this crankset?

Compact cranks almost all use a 110 mm bcd so Dura Ace regular road rings (130 mm bcd) won't fit.

T/A makes 53 and 39T rings in a 110 mm bcd and Harris Cyclery carries them but this is not an inexpensive change. Look here: http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/chainrings/110.html

I think it would be easier to buy BB30 to English BB adapter. Btw do I need special tools to unmount BB30 and install adapter?

The BB30 standard seems to be quite a good one. If your bike already has a functioning bottom bracket and crank then all you need do is switch rings and raise the front mech.

TA make some of the best, most durable rings in 110mm BCD but they are not the only brand. The only 110/compact rings which wont fit are some Campagnolo versions with an odd hole spacing.

Unsubstantiated but using the standard BB adapter can damage the BB30 shell when you remove the adapter.

Since the cranks are so light and stiff and already on the bike, changing the rings would probably be the best way of getting your bigger gears.

Instead of changing both rings, why not just change the inner ring to a 39T or 42T? Your 50T big ring should provide a plenty high top gear if used with a 12T or 11T smallest cog.

I need the middle part of cassette, so I don't use such gears as 50-11(12). Anyway I refused to buy this bike

if you're referring to the alloy Si cranks, you can get a 130BCD spider from cannondale which will let you use standard 39/53 rings. replacing those cranks with anything else is heresy! also, if you're already talking about replacing the cranks, why not just get the standard double Si cranks instead of going through the trouble of installing the adapter, buying other (inferior, but not by much), cranks. also, once the adapter is installed, you can't really take it back out again without a special press. also, you will need special tools to remove the Si crankset.
