I currently live in VA, but will likely be moving to Jacksonville shortly. How is the biking/racing in Jacksonville? Anyone have any insight? I will be living close to downtown. Thanks.

Jacksonville is beautiful. I would think there would be an active racing scene there. I believe merlinextralight lives there and would be a good one to hit up about the local rides.

I envy you. I've been wanting to move to Jacksonville since I was a kid. It's a great city with a great climate.

Enjoy,

Michael

I live in Jacksonville, but I don't race, so I am not up to speed on all of that. Otherwise, this is an improving area for riding. Lots of roads are being rebuilt and they are putting in bike lanes all over the city. There are lots of groups rides and the area's back roads are pretty safe for riding. Just hot as hell in the summer.

Might check with some of the local shops on the racing scene: Open Road Bicycles (904) 636-7772, Bicycle's Etc. (904) 733-9030, Champion Cycle's (904) 724-4922 or City Cycle (904) 356-2453.

I'm in Jacksonville too but am not racing. Maybe one day but that's many days, and many pounds, away. Here's a website you can check out:

Some of the best racers in Florida seem to come out of Jacksonville, so there must be something going on there.

Well, What about the constant line, FL is flat as a surf board...?

There is plenty of wind to make up for the flat terrain.
