I plan to ride from our place on North San Pedro road down by the Marin Civic Center to South McDowell Ave. off Lakeville Hwy 116 on the annual bike to work day. A couple years back I rode sections of this area on different century rides, but wanted to see if anyone had a preferred route. The obvious choice is to get up to Novato through San Marin, along the bike path section next to the Marin IJ, and then head out to the Cheese Factory and come up to Petaluma via D street, so I guess there are no short cuts there, besides riding on 101 eh.
Looks like there is a unnamed street off Novato Blvd, that doesn't quite connect all the way through, but heads right up to I street which runs parallel to D.
Found this handy tool on www.511.org (http://www.511.org) website:

Any suggestions, thanks in advance.
