I filed my business return and mailed it on the 15th along with a check. As of today, that check has not cleared my bank. Should I give them more time? I'm starting to get a little worried.

Nope. Don't worry. I'd say give it another month before you get concerned. My return was post marked on the 13th and the check just cleared my account on Monday. They are slow is all.

You can search for your local irs office here http://www.irs.gov/localcontacts/index.html I would call them to see if they could help you first.
Personally, I wouldn't start to be worried about it yet because if you mailed it on the 15th and if it takes two days to get there, you have only been waiting 8 business days for it to clear. That is not really all that long in the government world of handling anything.
For future reference, I always certify and get return receipt on all mailings I do to the IRS. Its just for my own piece of mind that I have proof somewhere that they got my return or other paperwork.

How often do they return the receipt? The last few paper returns I did, they just didn't return the receipt.

Thanks!
It's just that a couple of other separate estimated tax payment checks I mailed to the State and to the IRS on the 13th cleared within a week.
I will give them a couple more weeks time...

There is an 'ASK FXPOSE' thread somehwere (can't remember where I saw it!:D). You might be better off asking for advice there!

Brilliant! I'll do that... :p

You have to get an explicit return receipt form, which they paste on the envelope. When the envelope reaches the destination, the mailperson detaches it, writes down who signed it, and mails it back to you.
Another alternative are tracking numbers if you mail something certified or express. Those you can check the status of at the usps website.

I mailed both my 2007 return and my first 2008 estimated tax payment on the 15th. I was getting a little concerned with the delay in the IRS cashing the checks, but both checks made it to my bank yesterday.

That one check in question check cleared yesterday!
Now, I need to start preparing for filing of my personal return.
