Hey all...

I have a question about adjusting gears and I hope someone can help me with an answer.

I've been adjusting my 10-speed Shimano 105 grouppo and I've been adjusting the FD and the RD. I've adjusted it so the chain only rub against the FD when I'm using these two combinations: Large chainring/large sprocket and small chainring/small sprocket, basically when I'm cross chaining to the max...

But my question is, is it possible to adjust the gear so the chain won't rub against the FD no matter what gear combination you're using ?

Regards,
Jakob

Yes. Check the H and L adjustments on both deraileurs. It'll take a while. You might have to change your FD gear shifter.

Micro-adjust. Use the micro adjust "mini clicks" in the shifters

You probably shouldn't be using the big-big or small-small combos anyway, so isn't the question MOOT ???

If he is running a compact crankset you can get away with it. I try not to but there are times I have run this combo if I know I am only going to be there a short time. Using the trims on the shifters you can do this with no rub. Again it is not recommended but you can get away with it on a compact setup.
