Alt Bike Culture - First Alt Bike award in Arkansas

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This month, Cruisin' In The Rock allowed bicycles to show. About 8 bikes showed up including a mountain bike, a recumbent, a tall bike and 4 cruisers. The winner of the first "Best Bicycle" award was to Roger Pennington of Bryant for his great chopped custom bicycle. It featured a wooden "gas tank", an 8 speed internal hub, built-in tail lights and a springer front end. The build quality was excellent. I think this presages a good involvement of bicycles in the Cruisin' In The Rock events.

Did you enter a bike as well?
If you know Roger, tell him he's famous!

My bike is the Bacchetta behind the woman. Yes, I met Roger at the Cruisin. We were surprised at how nice the trophy was. That's what we get for the event being put on by the tourism department. :) Some of the other people said that they are giving Roger a run for his money in months to come.

Oh yeah! I mean, if you can get a nice trophy like that, it's worth really going all out. Besides, that's what we do here for fun, right :p ?

I told Roger, last month's winner, about Bike Forums. He's not much of an internet guy, he says.
And here's the winner for May.

Good to see the younger generation is getting warped early. There's actually quite a bit of work on this Schwinn Stingray. The coolest thing are the flip-down cruising pegs on the front fork.
