Last night, Third Eye Blind live at the rather intimate Nokia Theater in Times Square, NY City. Amazing show. I'm 50 years old, went with a 32 year old pal, audience median age had to be about 21. 3EB tore the roof off the place. GREAT show. 2+ hours standing on the floor watching these guys rock. It was more like a Miley Cyrus show since all the kids knew EVERY word to EVERY song and it turned into a friggin 3EB hootenanny. Regardless, still amazing, more like a revival meeting, the band clearly got off on the enthusiastic kid crowd, S. Jenkins spent a fair amount of time talking to the audience, and did say that they'd be heading directly to the studio to finish off album #4 in a couple of weeks.
The singing kids annoyed me at first, but after a while it was infectious, so even crotchety old Pcad joined in. What a total blast. All I drank was coke, got home @ 2AM and felt like I had a massive hangover today. Eschewed my hills of death hill repeat workout for a 30 mile tempo ride. Oh well. You gotta take this bike racing **** with a grain of salt. Rock n' Roll is more important. Sweet Mother of Jobs, without iPods and rock I couldn't even ride.
P.S. Nobody writes songs like Mr. Jenkins. NOBODY. 3EB does RULE.
