Hey everyone,
Im looking to purchase a track frame this summer and I want to keep the frame price to about $500 or less, $600 if its really worth it. Steel or aluminum, I'm not really set on one or the other yet. If anyone can give me any tips on what companies sell track frames in this price or have any recommendations for me, that would be amazing. Also, any tips you can give me would be great, this is my first track bike so I'm still in the learning stage to some extent. Thanks.

So you're looking to spend 5-600 on the frame alone? I have a Bareknuckle by Euro Asia Imports. you can find it at thebikebiz.com or other places. It's a chromoly steel frame, ride is sweet, stiff, and it's fairly light. you could also go with something like a bianchi pista concept, I believe thats in the price range you're looking at. It's Al, and people seem to love them. Might be harder to get a hold of though. Maybe go to a LBS that has track bikes to check some out.

i was wondering about this today as well. i saw a leader on ebay (720TR) as was gonna jump the gun on it, but wondered if there would be a better place to check first. this would be used strictly for track, but since my local track is two hours away, i don't want to drop a lot of money at first in case i don't stay with it. i'd rather spend money on a nice wheelset and cranks, cuz i can transfer those over if i so desire, and i'd assume having good running gear would be better than having a fancy frame right off the bat.
