Was getting changed in the locker room today and realized I left the house in my cloak of invisibility. That explains the mayhem on the way to work today. The tally was near misses from three cars and three bikes. One bike rider was looking right at me as he crossed to my side of the MUP (no one else in sight, and on a perfectly smooth and wide section of MUP) I had to holler at him twice before he swerved back to his side but not before I came to a complete stop to try and avoid him. The second was a red light runner, and the third was taking a blind corner fast and wide (our handle bars brushed).
Two cars went by me on city streets (25-30 mph) at about 40 mph; I don't think they saw me at all. Scared the $*it out of me. The third car pulled out in front of me while looking right at me; I had enough distance that it wasn't exactly a panic stop...
And to answer your questions: I wear a fluresent construction vest, and have a blinky and solid (15 watt) front lights, and for rear lights I have one solid bike mount, a solid one on the waist of my shorts, and a blinky on my helmet, my bike is plastered in the 3m reflective tape from AutoZone. Be careful out there folks.
To top it off I am 30 lbs overweight and do have a bit of bulk to me.
