Anyone going to this one? I did it last year and attendance was low....probably only 300-350, and last years route was really flat. Although their are new routes this year, I suspect it will still be pretty flat.....

Given that the "new routes" appear to circle Eagle Mountain lake, it may not be "pretty flat." It will be pretty, just not pretty flat. It'll be relatively flat, compared to, say... Vail Pass...
"Really flat" sounds good to me. :)

I've ridden up that way....even around the lake its not bad.....
Can y'all get the maps to open on the website, or is it just me? The route directions open up, but not the maps.

You're right! I can only get the 60 mile route to open. Maybe this is why attendance is so low???? An omen?
Well, I generally look at the bicycle-stuff.com website and it wasn't on their calendar (I sent an email) so that doesn't help matters any. Of course, I don't know how all these people find out about these things anyway. There were 2,000+ riders at Tour Dallas and about 6 or 8 from here.
Ride report:
Well the new 60 mile was not as flat as last year, there were constant hills. Nothing big, just lots of rolling hill after rolling hill etc. Overall though, still a nice course. The roads weren't too bad, although some sections were more than in need of some repairs. Rest stops were fine....the usual water, gatoraide, bananas, oranges, pickles, and of course cookies.
I enjoyed this ride, and will probably do it again next near. Attendance was not high, maybe 250 or so?? Worse part of the day for me was about 8 miles from the finish when a yellow jacket flew down my jersey and stung me twice before I could get rid of it....oh well, something to remember the day.
