Can anyone recommend a good post with more than 25 mm of setback that can handle someone weighing 235 lbs? I need to replace my current one, as the saddle is at the end of the rails and I want to get a post that supports it better. Any advice / recommendations welcome.
Thanks
I am using the Titec El Norte Bent, works for me, and I am weighing more. AFAIK Velo Orange sometimes also has a seatpost that might qualify.
Thomson Elite seat post is the best on the market. I just replaced my stock Cannondale with one. they have them in setback and non-setback

The Thomson has only 16 mm setback, despite its looks.
"Is the best on the market?"
Congratulations. What do I expect from a seatpost? that it puts me in the correct position and that it does not break.

That where I was coming from. It's not carbon. ;)

I agree on the Thomson. This post solved all my seatpost problems. I was able to get a good deal on mine at Jensonusa.com, only $60 bucks when I bought it, all the LBS's near me wanted almost twice that price.

I agree. I broke my first (El Cheapo) seatpost after about 6 months. I have been riding on Thomson Elite now for...almost 2 years I guess. At 350# I have not heard a creak out of it, no slippage as well. (***Knocks on wood three times***)

I've had good luck with the Thomson Elite although I know you're looking for a post with more setback. I've got a Nitto s 83 on my touring bike that's been good so far but I haven't put that many miles on it. It's got a great reputation though and has two bolt mounting for security and durability, FWIW by reports from some people on the web it has somewhere between 21mm and 25mm of setback. I can check my post tonight if you're curious.

Thanks for all the input. I'd love to get a Thomson, but I need more than 16mm to work with. I'll check out the Nitto, and a friend suggested the FSA K Force, so hopefully one of those two will work.
Thanks again.
