Monticello Century 5/18/08

This ride is the day after the Davis Double. If you aren't doing the double, or are certifiable and want to do both, are you going to ride it? I'm riding it as my very first century.

It's my first century of the season. I was originally going to ride it to work on my speed, but given my current work travel schedule, it may be more about just getting the distance under my legs.

Red Rider and I will be there on the tandem. Scott, wanta ride with us?

I couldn't find anything that tells me how much vertical there is. Does anyone know?

My Garmin said 5698 from last year. I think the official is around 4600. It is not that bad really and the scenery is really nice.

Wonder if anyone will ride this after the Davis Double? Pete? Curtis? Oh, I bet they're out carousing when they should be sleeping. This is a good ride for someone not up to doing a double. Now with ice cream at the finish line.:D I plan on checking in at 6:30 and start at 7am. No guesses on a finishing time because it's my first century.

Wait for us, Scottie, we'll be starting early as well. We don't want to spend a nanosecond longer the sun than we have to, so ditto the 6:30 check in time.

So you think we'll see DD riders out there? :p

Scotty, why not get started before 7:00? RR says the K is going to ride to so we should all meet up and ride together. We are not planning on any speed records.
