It arrived on Monday....perhaps as early as last Friday, but we don't get mail on the weekends and I only checked on Monday.

Once Graham and I parted ways I gave my friend Sarah a ride to dinner. She had the good fortune to be the first passenger to try out my snap deck padding - she gave it a 2 thumbs up review..:D

Not only is the cushion comfy, but it takes the military/stealth edge off the Dummy for those kinder gentler cargo hauling moments...lol...;)

For extra chivalry points, learn to mount by kicking your leg forward over the bars....watch any experienced tandem captain for a demo. Not really hard, but best to try it the first few times without an audience!

Ok, enough pictures of the bike, can we get more pics of Sarah please?

I think if I get a pad for my deck it's gonna hafta be covered with some o' that metaflake vinyl like the seat from my Rollfast Skoot that I got for my 8th birthday back in 1969

You should see her in real life! Also Anna, another of his friends I met by coincidence before I met Vik,
what, with all these lovely personable young ladies and such a nice bike, I could really get to hate him
if he wasn't such a gent about letting me have a test ride.

So,.. I like the Big Dummy, and I like the Rohloff, I also like the H-bars.
Sigh, life just got so much more expensive.

Thanks Vik!

It was great to meet you as well...:p I'll look forward to your long tail and hopefully we can hook up for a ride.

My friend Karen is over and she has an Xtracycle on order so slowly, but surely we'll build a Calgary long tail posse!...:)

20kms of long board towing later we were exhausted, but happy to have found a new way to get around town...:thumb:

My friend shot a short video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iv-TCB7YcDA) of the ride home from our LBS Bow Cycle (http://www.bowcycle.com/bc08/index.shtml) with a Chariot kids trailer.

I ran into Joel [the other Big Dummy owner in Calgary & a Bike Forums member] on my way back from Bow Cycle (http://www.bowcycle.com) with Ursula's Electra Townie (http://bp0.blogger.com/_vUEhS0lU3eU/SDMu9DerJTI/AAAAAAAAFUE/AQv25lmjzLw/s400/BD+Ursula%27s+Townie.JPG). I was amazed anyone even knew what a Big Dummy or Xtracycle was let alone be the owner of the other Big Dummy in town. I'm looking forward to checking out his rig and going for some longtail coffee rides....=-)

One more non-cycling friend has decided to buy a bike + trailer and park the car for the summer - sweet!! Congrats Ursula...
