Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hey all, I'm interested in buying a replacement hitch from Burley to replace the not so nice hitch on my child trailer (don't worry I only use it for groceries so if something fails the only thing hurt'll be my ego) but Burley would not send me the dimensions of their hitch to see if it would fit where the one goes on my trailer, due to liability issues I suppose.
So I was wondering if someone could measure the dimensions of the hitch. In the picture I put little lines on the dimensions I need.
thanks!

I happen to have that hitch for my D'lite and it is removed from the bike right now as I am fixing a broken spoke (not caused by the trailer). I'll try really hard to remember to take a measurement tonight.

Well for some odd reason I only remembered to take the vertical dimension and not the horizontal one. I'll try and remember the horizontal tonight. However, the vertical dimension (inside the hitch like the picture seems to indicate) is 7/8". I also measured the vertical dimension from the outside, which is 1-1/4". I'll report back tomorrow with the additional information.

I concur with DieselDan, I took the horizontal measurement last night and that is what I got. Actually it seemed to be between 1-1/16" and 1-1/8" so I was almost going to say 1-3/32". But there are probably just slight variations in the manufacturing and their intent was 1-1/8". I think that is a safe measurement. Hope it helps!
