Mountain Biking - My apologies to mtnbiker66

Okay, I owe mtnbiker66 an apology. Several times I took part in all the wisecracks regarding his age and at one point I think I made a correlation between advanced age and his choice of Ergon grips.

Well, I put on a pair on my Surly Big Dummy and think they're awesome. I may get another pair and put them on my XC rig.

Then again I am 38 so maybe I'm just getting old.

38 is still just a young pup. If you show up in the fall I may let you clean my riding gear to make up for all those hurtful things you have said to me in the past.

Probably just me but like with that palm support thing i cant get a good grip on the bars and hands have come off the bars a few times.

It takes a few rides to get them adjusted but I've never had any problems.......but I ride smooth flat terrain.

Those paved bike paths can still have some nasty cracks in them though.

Grips. I don't know if they have a grip-shift compatible version but i read of a guy in the Utility forum who cut down the grip to accommodate the grip-shift. The lock-on portion is only on the end so you can cut down the inside portion.

My Dad has a set of Ergon grips. They're comfortable when you keep your hands in one spot, but moving your hands into different positions is uncomfortable, so I don't see them being used outside of trail bikes.

What are you spewing? There are two hand positions: 1) on the bars, or 2) off the bars.

Doh! Forgot to update the build sheet. The grips were an impulse buy at the LBS. I went to pick it up after they installed the headset and a couple of other stuff. Saw the Ergon grips were on sale so picked them up. I don't even have a proper picture as I'm still working on the stoker bar.
