This was so unusual at least for me I had to write about it. I put a new SRAM chain on my Cannondale and did the usual measurement of big chain ring large cog expecting to have to shorten it some. With the power link it came out perfect. No shortening needed. I checked about three time and it was perfect. Sometimes things just work out.

If I were you I would check it a couple more times and if it is still perfect I'd shorten it.

It sounds like you are running a non stock gearing with either a larger chain ring or much larger rear cog, or both or have a bike with some freakishly long chain stays.

Check the chain when it's in the small and small combination and see where things are at as even though this is a gearing you should not run (just like the big and big) it tells a lot about how much chain you really need.
