Thinking about sneaking out of the house and doing the vernon Hills crit this Sunday. Weather looks like it will hold and this crit has a few things going for it:

Cat 5 is it's own field
It is the first race so I can get there and back with time still left in the day.
It is about 1 hr to drive
it is only 25 minutes for the Cat 5 field.
The course is completely flat with "wide roads" (read "fast").

Hmmm.....now I just have to figure out what color I should paint the inside of the dog house.

EDIT: If I want more punishment I can also hit the Masters 30+ 4/5 race at 10:55. I'd be home before 1. :D

Good memory.

Is this a business or industrial park kind of course? Sounds similar to what's happening in Kenosha which would be a closer drive for me, and I don't think I could make the 9am Elite Cat. 5 start anyway. Too much driving to be done on Sat.

It says it's inside a "Nike" sports area. It appears that there are a few sports complexes in the area - and/or parks. Not sure having never been there.

Hip...I'll not only try to keep it inside the conec, but I'll try to keep it with the pack. Flat out 25 minutes...that's doable. :D

I JUST noticed too that Kenosha has all day crits near Dairlyland Dog Track/Airport area 5/4 also.
