Well, after reading all about CyLowe's crazy-hill climbing ride, I thought I would offer some balance here for those who, rather than see a challenge and take it, would prefer to see that challenge and do something easier instead! :D

I've got a Tour of Wisconsin ride as the final stage of several rides in several cities with my sister, who is vacationing for a week and a half with me, in from York, PA where she's having her bike shipped in from her LBS.

We could open up the final stage, which is my basic daily driver...the Whitnall Park crit area...to some other riders too. I think she would get a kick out of riding in a group for the first time.

This would be a Monday event....date and time to be announced....soon.

If its a Monday, I might be able to make it.. Keep us posted.

MONDAY, JUNE 16th.

That Monday will mark her final ride here with me before she heads back home to PA the next day.
I'm thinking of taking her on a city ride...my usual 27-mile route, plus a diversion into the Whitnall Park crit course for a few laps, making this leg of the Tour of Wisconsin about 35 miles.

Maybe some pizza and beer after.
I've got the day off work of course.

Prologue
Saturday, June 7

The opening prologue of the Tour of Wisconsin will be in keeping with the great prologue events of the grand tours, short and sweet to set the stage as to who will be the leader heading into Stage One. Except the ToW prologue will be truly unique in that it will feature no riding at all. Instead, the ToW Prologue will involve carb-loading only at Filippo’s Pizza in West Allis, Wisconsin that night.

Stage One
Sunday, June 8
Tosa to Palmyra
36 miles

The riders of the ToW will have to endure their stiffest challenge of the entire stage event, a 36-mile test of wills and legs from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to Palmyra, Wisconsin through the rolling hills of the Kettle Moraine Forest. No doubt the riders’ feet will be to the fire in this early stage as they try to keep from walking up some of the climbs. This is the longest stage of the tour.

Stage Two
Monday, June 9
Whitewater Lake
30 miles

With less than 24 hours of rest in their legs, the riders of the ToW will spend Stage 2 in the beautiful countryside of southeast Wisconsin, riding through farmland and forest around Whitewater Lake. Recovery from the tough opening stage will be the key to a good performance here. The rider who can best-handle the pain of the grueling opening stage may well be the winner 24 hours later.

Stage Three
Saturday, June 14
La Grange
14 miles+

With several days rest behind them now, the riders in the ToW will ease back into things in this short stage from Palmyra to the tiny town of La Grange, Wisconsin, home of the Backyard Bikes shop. Tour organizers say this stage may be expanded from its current 17 miles to include a loop to Elkhorn, Wisconsin, thereby making it the longest stage of the tour at about 40 miles.

Sunday June 15th, rest day

Stage Four
Monday, June 16th
Loomis Loop/Whitnall Park Crit
35 miles

The Tour of Wisconsin will no-doubt go out with a bang as the riders hit urban streets and a crit racing course in Milwaukee County in this final stage. This route will take the riders from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin into Franklin, Wisconsin with a stop along the way at Whitnall Park, where they will do battle for several laps on the Botanical Gardens criterium course before heading back to home base.

The awards ceremony for the Tour of Wisconsin will take place on Milwaukee’s fashionable East Side at Rainbow Jersey Bike Shop this same evening before the riders depart after a wonderful week of riding.
