So, I'm usually the last guy to go picking up a self-help/philosophy/spirituality book, but for whatever reason the hype of this book just finally got me. So, with quite a bit of trepidation, I got the audiobook version to help pass the time on what is now my 90-minute commute home (rotating at a hospital in Virginia, live in Laurel, MD--locals can do the math).
All I can say is WOW. I've spent many years sort of dissatisfied with the contradictions/divisiveness/etc. of mainstream Christianity, yet underneath it all I felt like there was, in fact, a pure message somewhere. I also found myself identifying with many of the ideas of eastern religions, particularly Buddhism. This book really opened my eyes to the similarities and unifying ideas that really bring the religions of the world together rather than divide them. With a little change of perspective, the message that seemed to be lost in the static now seems apparent, unifying, and uplifting.
I found this to be a very eye-opening, enlightening book, much to my own surprise. Just curious to know what others think of it...
