I am in the process of building a new road bike. Does anyone know what components from different companies are compatible?
Specifically, I am looking to use Shimano Ultegra shifters and derailleurs with a Campy Centaur Compact Carbon Double Crankset and a SRAM 1070 OpenGlide Cassette. Does anyone know if these parts are compatile or am I wasting my time?
Thanks

It all depends on what kind of combat you are going into...

I do road cycling races. So I'll need it to be able to do hills, flats, and whatever the course is.

Shimano and SRAM cassettes are identically spaced so that is no problem. Using Ultegra shifters with a Campy double crank and front derailleur should also be no problem. Double cranks are pretty tolerant. Triple cranks are where the mis-matches can cause difficulties.
