I am twenty-two.
Have you ever seen someone that is fat/chubby and thought, "Wow... they'd be HOT if they lost some of that..
Well guess what. I AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. How could I know that?
Well, right now I am not in shape. I do not attract girls, well not pretty ones anyway. (except one, she's cool). I am overlooked and underrated. It wouldn't suck this bad if I was used to it all my life. But guess what? There was another side... just 3 years ago I was prom king and I had some of the hottest girls EVER tell me I was hot and they wanted me. Of course I was in shape too. I could dress very sexy and I could work magical wonders.
I WILL NOT LET FOOD BOTHER ME ANYMORE! There is PIZZA in my fridge. I will not eat that. I will piss on it and throw it away. I am tired of living like this! Too fat and lazy to even ride my bike anymore!
No more! No more! I will crusade against this evil empire of food! I am tired of this cluster-FC[K] my life has been!
It is war!
I will not let this TRUE SCUM 'food' push me around! PROGRESS will be made, I shall BLAST THROUGH! It is time to be VIOLENT. Use flamethrowers and miniguns on the enemy, nuke them! No mercy! No bush war style, just TURN IT INTO A GLASS FACTORY!
Food shall be DESTROYED. Now!

Formula4, good luck.
Say, perhaps you might want to visit the Clydesdales/Athenas forum? They are very helpful over there.

Do it..
If you used to be in good shape just a few years ago, it shouldn't be too hard to get back into shape with proper diet and exercise. Don't destroy all food! There are plenty of healthy foods that taste great and you can eat a lot of.
Good luck.

Worry and the stress resulting from worry is far more "fattening" than any food.
All you need to do is: 1.) Make sure there is no underlying health problem for which "excess fat" is symptomatic (and deal with it if it exists); 2.) Get it through your head that if someone does not think you are "hot"...it's THEIR problem and not yours; 3.) Do you want to really get 'involved' with someone who thinks more of appearances than other things...such as intelligence?; and, 4.) If someone rejects you because you are fatter than they think is "pretty"? Their loss.
And...Get out there and ride! Fit does trump fat...

GTFU Fatty.
Oh, you're the guy that keeps PMing me about my video store. I don't know what this GTFO is, and I'm sorry for not being able to respond directly, but my PMs are not sending for some reason still. My shop is currently out of stock on your requested film, 'Asian Ladyboyz III'. We usually can only special order it because its not that popular. Just email me so we can sort this all out. Thanks.

In my mind, there's nothing wrong with being "fat," but having determination to change that. There is something wrong with those that feed that bad habit or fail to follow through.
Not to rant (much), but I was very much overweight about a year ago, and every time I looked at the mirror, I knew that I couldn't keep being that way. I was short (5'8"), but somewhat heavy (185 - 190 lb). I decided to get on the spinner for three times a week and cut back on some foods I didn't need (but not go ultra-healthy). I got enough money to get a good starter bike (a great Costco Schwinn), and I just rode, rode and rode some more. Before I knew it, I was in the 170s. Then I got myself a road bike, had an accident and totaled it, then got a much nicer road bike that led me to two centuries and a LOT of mileage afterwards. I am now at 158 lbs and am in the best shape of my life (i.e. I have a six-pack. WTF?)
I really wish I was like another poster here that actually took a before and after photo. To me (and everyone else that thought I was dying of starvation or something), the change was dramatic. This year was also the first winter where I didn't gain any extra weight (as I usually gain 10 lbs sort of automatically during this period). I actually lost a bit of weight during this period due to winter cycling brutality. When you make it to that goal, you feel better in every single way!
Good luck, man!
A little unsolicited advice...
The best thing you can do to immediately change your eating habits is to have breakfast everyday, eat your big meal in the middle of the day, and have a very light supper. You will be amazed how quick this works.
And ride more.

To add to the above:
You might also want to throw in a few (small) snacks every two or three hours. This will inhibit any hunger craves that result to large lunches/dinners. When and if you start exercising seriously, this will help the increased pangs of hunger you will receive throughout the day. I usually recommend vegetables (bananas FTW) or Balance Bars, as those are very filling, but moderately light. The Special K bars are alright, but I usually felt pretty hungry after having one.
Also, drinking more water helps A LOT. It seems like such a small change, but you'll be surprised how beneficial this practice is.

You and me's buds, Formula. I'm here for ya.
Get out on your bike and RIDE! Great way to burn the fat!
Six years ago, I weighed ~195 lbs at my heaviest. Today, I weigh 140-145 lbs and it seems I can keep that weight relatively constant. I'm pretty sure cycling helps a great deal...

I'm in the same boat...5'10 and in the mid 160's. I've got at least 10 - 15 lbs i need to lose. I feel like i've been cutting down on bad food intake, but its hard to tell at the moment. I've started cycling again too...a real short 12 mile loop...i'm happy enough that i can do it at a 15 - 16 MPH pace...but this time 5 years ago i was riding 3,000 miles a summer. Down here (orlando) i should be able to do that all year (since it never gets cold). But motivation + stress are a real killer for me right now.

Yeah....the way the semi-pro i trained with when i first got into cycling put it, i've got a 'climbers frame.' I'd have to agree, able to keep with the A Group in the hills, but getting dropped on the flats (up in NJ,and when i was in shape). Now in Orlando, there aren't any hills :( so i'm going to have to adapt. Losing the weight will help i am sure, and i can't afford a gym membership right now.

I envy you! I'm pretty good on the flats (can keep a 25mph pace for a while), but get shelled on the climbs. Every time. All of the time.
This combined with few hill climbs in New York City and school/work obligations make for a powerful flat rider/sprinter, but horrible climber.

Well dont envy me too much...i'm fat and really out of shape now...that 12 mile ride is extremely flat and i can only hold a 15 - 16 MPH average. Theres only a few stop signs/lights along the way too. I need to get to the point of 18 - 20 MPH Average to go on the weekend group ride that does 40 - 60 miles. I figure all this week i'll ride the same route, try to do it faster (don't have a real good clock/odometer to measure it...the one i have now thinks i am still on the ride i did a week ago...its distance reading = odometer).

I weigh about 160, too. I'm about 6', but I'm like REALLY skinny in my upper body (at the point where my ribs show somewhat, had a LONG case of bronchitis), but I've built my legs over last summer until they got that dimple down my quad and no fat. So I guess I'm a content, just wish I could put some meat on my sides, no thanks to my high metabolism.
I'm pretty fat, luckily I was blessed with somewhat wide broad shoulders and when I am in skinny shape my waist is tiny. I always wanted to bulk my upper body for the fun of it.

My diet tip: If you drink Soft Drinks, stop.
It's amazing what happens when you quit that HFCS. If you want sugar, have some sugar but the corn syrup is magical fat or something. Add to that the fact that your CO2 blood levels will drop and you can see how this can easily affect your fitness and exercise capacity.

Just thought I'd translate this:
Eat breakfast like a king; lunch like a prince; and dinner like a pauper.
I have a similar problem too.
For my whole life I've been depressed about my body. Women only want me for one thing.
I'm always known as the 'hot' guy and I'm tired of it.
I have some pizza in the fridge that I pissed on and I'm going to eat it anyway.
In 6 months I'm gonna be a fat b*stard and everyone will like me for my humour and intelligence.
