I just recently moved back to Pasadena from Miami. When I was here before I used to ride at the Rose Bowl on Thursdays after work. I know it is winter now (BOY, do I know after a year and a half in Miami  ) so are there rides on the weekends?

I am on a MTB for now (researchng road bikes), but I love to get in and draft with the stragglers that fall off the back. And I LOVE IT when you maniacs go by at 30mph+!!!!! gotta get a road bike. gotta get a road bike. gotta get a road bike..................

Anyone not around Pasadena, there are probably 80 - 100 riders going seriously fast. It gives you goosebumps when these guys roar by. (Am I sick or what? :p )

Avalanche325.......these same Rose Bowl riders plus a lot more ride every SATURDAY morning from So Pas to close to San Dimas and back.....about a 2 hr training ride. I always see a few people on Mtbs also. 08:25 sharp!....in front of Trader Joe's on Mission near Orange Grove. Expect a huge group tomorrow due to nice warm weather. Fun training ride with riders of all levels..

Fixer,
How fast, how far tomorrow? I think I've seen this pack heading down Huntington in San Marino...looked like 100 riders or so. Looks fun!
Maybe I'll head over.

Maybe I'll head over.Yep, that's the group. Total average speed is usually between 21-22 mph for the entire ride. The pack splits into two groups in Irwindale....short loop (35mi) and long loop (50mi, faster pace). Look for straglers.....I should be among them riding a fixed gear.

Fixer,

I can't make it tomorrow. I have to take the wife to the airport. I will definately be there next week!!!! That will give me a week to get back on it. I just moved, and my stuff had to be stored so I have been off the bike for a month. :(
I'll hit the street tomorrow. And the trainer during the week.

I can't wait!!!
