I'm looking for group ride schedules for Harrisburg and DC (west side, Vienna VA area and/or MD).

I will be in Vienna Monday (5/5/08) and Tuesday. Then Harrisburg Tuesday eve and Wednesday.

The only schedule that I've found for the Harrisburg area is from the Harrisburg Bicycle Club (http://harrisburgbicycleclub.org/index.php?option=com_jcalpro&Itemid=27). They list a B+ ride for Tuesday eve which I may try to catch. Also, I wondered what else was available in Harrisburg because I seem to be making a couple trips a month to the area.

If I can't get to Harrisburg by 6pm, I thought that I would try to catch something near Vienna or somewhere in between.

Thanks in advance.

In addition to the Tuesday evening rides (which originate in Mechanicsburg - Harrisburg area), there are Monday and Thursday evening rides as well. Mondays the rides begin in Hershey, where you'll find B+, B, C+, and C rides (the B rides are typically 16-17 avg over rolling to hilly terrain), and Thursdays you have rides out of both Mechanicsburg and Hershey. The Mechanicsburg rides tend to be flatter and faster; Hershey has more climbing.

Tuesday evenings I'm familiar with a group that does some tougher training-specific rides - hill repeats, etc. If that's your thing, I may be able to steer you in that direction.

If you need more info, just let me know.

There's a group of serious hammerheads who have their own ride out of the Mechanicsburg High School location on Tuesday and Thursday. Look for the groups closest to the parking lot exit and ask which one is the fast ride.

Thanks for the information. Any idea on an avg pace of the ride? I don't want to get in too far over my head and get dropped in unknown territory. Are we talking CAT 1/2 hammerheads?
