I've gone about 2 weeks with barely any sugar, not even in my food. I got addicted to propel water.
Constant headaches, feel like crap, pissy mood, rude to people.
Tonight, I say screw this, I drunk 2 cups of something that was almost pure sugar. I feel peachier than a peach cobbler. W t fark?

Have you tried having any fruit to get any of that sugar back? Maybe something with honey in it would help as well.

Read my post Mr. Literist. :p

Nope nothing. My meals are salty and bland and no sugar either. Plus 1 gram of sugar per propel water.

What's the deal with propel water? Why can't you just drink normal water? Try eating fruit next time you get a sugar withdrawal, it might help.

It tastes like sugar, but isn't. Almost.

Bleh. Sounds kind of gross to me. But I suppose it could ease the sugar cravings a bit.

Ohm, okay.. you need your brain, and your brain uses glucose to 'live'
sugar = sucrose = fructose + 'glucose'

It is gross, but after 5 bottles of it you get used to the disgusting aftertaste.

Red is 100% right. Your brain can ONLY assimilate glucose.
after 5 bottles of it you get used to the disgusting aftertaste.Well, that's a ringing endorsement if I've ever heard one.

For True Fitness & Health, Ditch Propel for Water and a Multivitamin
May 21 '03
Product Rating: 2.0
Pros
Great taste & flavor, nice packaging, vitamins, low cal
Cons
Splenda & the artificial sweetener taste, artificial ingredients
The Bottom Line
Although this stuff tastes good (regardless of the artificial sweetner taste), you don't get much health benefit (their selling point) from Propel.
Ingredients & Nutritional Information
Ingredients (from Kiwi-Strawberry flavor): Water, Sucrose Syrup, Citric Acid, Natural Kiwi and Strawberry Flavors with other Natural Flavors, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Citrate, Sucralose, Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), 10% Vitamin E Acetate, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Calcium Disodium EDTA (Protects Freshness), Calcium Pantothenate (Vitamin B5), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Acesulfame Potassium, Vitamin B12.
The label states loud and clear, “No Fruit Juice”.
As for vitamins, there is (in % daily value):
10% Vitamin C
25% Niacin
4% Vitamin B12
10% Vitamin E
25% Vitamin B6
25% Pantothenic Acid
The Propel website notes that these vitamins are water soluble and won’t conflict with any other vitamins that you take. I don’t think this is a good source of vitamins at all, and wouldn’t rely on it for what my body needs. Considering what I feel to be damage through the artificial sweeteners, preservatives, etc, the only thing these vitamins will do is help to stave off some unhealthy side effects of drinking this product.
I also wouldn’t rely on this product for energy or replenishment of any kind. Obviously it is low-calorie, and what it is mostly good for is replacing lost fluids.

This is what I drink it for, to down the water because after years of sugar plain water just doesn't do it for me. I am in no way expecting any health benefit from it.

This is how people get started on cigarettes too.
Aspartame and Splenda are total crap for your body.

eh...not exactly. After a period of time, the brain will adapt to run off of Ketones as well.
And if he's been eating starchy foods then he is still getting glucose, as starch is nothing more than long chains of glucose.
if you like diet sode you will like Propel. how is that for a ringing endorsement? later.

I can't drink diet soda.
That's right, no tea either.
How about herbal extracts, like chamomile, elderflower, and the like?

Try a stevia leaf instead of honey...may take a few times for you to determine how much, but there's no sugar invlolved.
I can't drink diet soda.Propel "water" is an uncarbonated diet soft drink.

Flavor is somewhat different, I think the chemical makeup is a bit varied from brand to brand.

Jon - I went to a diet a while back of pretty much straight near to raw fruits/vegetables and a bit of protein in lean grilled chicken/fish. I cut out all processed carbs (bread/pasta).

I've never felt freakin' better in my life. The diet took some getting used to but it worked big time.
Oh, I still had alcohol now and again. I still dropped like 30 pounds.
