How 'bout some YouTube or other video links about eBikes?
Cool is, cool does - other than braking I wish I had built this one:

Nothing high end but well done on modest budget - notice the tall mirrors are a very good idea since the faster speeds you average the more important it is to be aware of what's around you. I know this area in So CA and you probably don't need much braking capacity as flat as it is. Something hilly, different story.
I think that's a Golden Motor front hub...???

He should wear a helmet!
He's of legal age to ride a bicycle without a helmet in that city/state. Thanks for your opinion!
I wonder how many beer cans went into this one?

In Ontario a helmet is required on an eBike. What's the law in California though?

forestsoul - Nice job! How many miles/KM do you think you've ridden so far? Are you considering moving to lithium batteries in the future? thanks for sharing!

Thanks :) Ridden about 144mi/230km so far and everything's been going great. Brakes are needing adjusting now and then, but so far so good.
I've thought about lithium batteries, but my commute isn't very far (5km one way), so I haven't had the need just yet. Possibly in the future, but my summers here are very short and these SLA batteries are doing just fine for now. Thanks for watching.

Nice video and editing! What kind of speeds are you riding at most of the time in those videos?

I was doing a max of about 35km/h in those videos, but mostly I passed the camera in turns at about 25km/h or so.

Might have to watch an ad to view but it's worth it IMO -

Need to look up OHM (sp?) bikes - I like the disc brakes and nicely designed battery compartment.
