Hey I was thinking that in the time I've been a member here on BF some threads are just SO outstanding that I would like to see them "showcased" somehow rather than just fading off into the misty archives.

First recent couple that come to mind...Cassave's How to Build a Lugged Steel Frame (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=399311) from the SoCal Forum..

East Hill's the kindness of a stranger (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=385777&highlight=stranger+gift) from C&V...

There was another good long thread where a "novice" posted planning a cross country trip and progressed from beginning (with the "incorrect" wrong sized bike), getting advice and then finally doing it...that was a good one, too, but I can't find it just now.

Any feedback? Comments? More favorite thread suggestions?

I don't know. The people posting in the thread posted in a particular area. They might not want it out in other areas.

I would agree. Keep it to the right area. I don't care about road bikes for example.

We have done this in mtb before. With a "featured" thread listing, I believe that feature went away with the newer installs. Worked quite well and really kept the featured threads in their respective homes.

I know I would be happy to share this story with anyone who cares to read it (because it's just so amazing), but I can see where other people might want to keep to their own forums.

I have a best of bikeforums collection of links specifically for C&V on my own website over on http://velobase.com in the links section (though it's woefully out of date at the moment). The C&V section also has a links thread that is stickied. When I get a chance, I'll ask the powers with their hands on the buttons of the software if something like this is possible with the current version.

Without a shadow of doubt, this is the best thread to come out of BikeForums since I've been here - We're Going to Yell at You. (http://bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=200479)
