This looks interesting. Anyone here doing this...the roster looks very small so far. It starts off just down the road from me so I might go offer to help if we are around that weekend.

We have one of those ultra races here in Maupin, in September. I helped last year, and it is one of goals to be ready in Sept to do it this year, possibly as a relay team the first year. It is absolutely great fun and fascinating those riders willing to ride 12 or 24 hours. If anyone is interested in the Maupin one, the website is raceacrossoregon.com.

I had to come update because this ride had such excellent feedback both from the riders and the volunteers. :thumb:. I volunteered for a tiny portion of the ride, taking times on the laps that added to the 12 and 24 hr time-ers :). I learned soooo much just being there for a handful of hours. I was so humbled by the riders and encouraged also. :love:

If you are considering some "ultra" minded events in your future please come out for this event next year. It is such a great experience, training for RAO, or just fun that you should attend (good early season prep work). The weather cooperated for the riders for over 1/2 of their day. I enjoyed the perseverance I saw:eek:.

I met some really kind/nice people with the equal dose of competitive spirit and am encouraged by that in this sport :D
