Foo - Some golden moldies are holding off the mold

I've seen a number of the golden moldie rock acts over the years, and they've all lost something since their heydays. I thought it was great that David Lee Roth got back with Van Halen, but he just couldn't get out of "Las Vegas lounge act" mode and it was a disappointment. I loved Dio-era Sabbath, but Ronnie James Dio just looked silly as an old heavy metal dude (although it was great to see Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler). And most disappointing for me is that I can't enjoy Yes as much as I used to, but I'm not sure what the reason is.

Luckily for me, there's one rock act that's just as strong, just as enjoyable as the first time I saw them 26 years ago, and that's Rush. They've managed to grow old without seeming like pathetic old rockers, and their music rocks just as hard, and the fan base is very strong and extremely enthusiastic. I just saw them last night for the second time on the same tour (they've been doing this tour for about a year). Thick clouds of funny smelling smoke wafted over me from the guys standing behind me; the girl to my right was dancing like a **** the whole concert; and Rush rocked hard as usual.

Here's a YouTube example of the Rush experience for this tour. Neil Peart is still the best drummer in rock. And he rode a bicycle through Africa (and wrote a book about it), so he should be cool to any BFer.

Rush has always been one of my favorite bands.

Yeah, but admit it...you, like me, stop at every run down, delapidated barn we ride by to see if there is a barchetta parked in there under a crusty old canvas...you know you do. I know I do.:D

I only check barns at some distance from the house. Out of buckshot range.
