I'm looking for a bike I can ride trails with but will still allow me to ride on streets. I would like a bike with gears.

Does this fit my needs? If not does anyone have any suggestions?

Looks like a nice bike to me! But for 600 bucks make sure to shop around! Check out the LBS for end of the year closeouts, too.

It seems like a nice bike and a decent auction. However, I don't think I'd want to pay much more than his starting price. The bike is clearly used, and if it is like most used bikes, parts of the drivetrain are going to be due for replacement soon.

I'm also somewhat mistrustful of used ultra light frames. I'd want to see a few more pictures...close up ones...of different parts of the bikes. Chainstays, rings, headtube and crown. Mostly to try to get an idea of how much use is on this thing.

I guess the biggest issue for someone like me is that you can buy some very nice new hardtails for $600. But as long as you know what you want, and you want this, then enjoy and let us know how it turns out.
