With respect, the umbrella seems a bit of an unnecessary complcation. It blocks the rider's vision and makes the machine less aerodynamic.

If your wife feels that she needs protection from the sun, a wide-brimmed hat would probably be better.

Looks like a couple of shocks to hold it upright; most lean-steer systems will not stand upright when a rider is not on the bike/trike.

It looks like a tadpole version of a Giant Revive; aerodynamics is probably not much of a concern really.

Leaning trikes would be more popular if they weren't more complicated and consequently more expensive to make than standard rigid ones.

I rode one once - a homebuilt - that used a disc brake in the frame to 'lock out' the leaning so the rider could start like a standard trike. With the frame unlocked, it felt amazingly like a 2-wheeler
