Mountain Biking - Who are some pro mountain bikers and what bikes do they ride?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Who are some pros and what do they ride? Wondering how many ride hardtails, full-suspension, 29ers, etc.

Pro what?
Pro what?
Darren Berrecloth is a seasoned pro. I think he is riding the new S-Works Epic this year.
Kyle Strait has moved over to the Mongoose Canaan 29'er.
Gary Fisher still races at the ripe old age of 50'sumptin...he hates 29'ers though. He's moving the direction of the Demo 8.

Google and Yahoo are the pros that ride the hardest.

I met Chris Eatough (however you spell his name) (the guy from the 24 hour race) on a ride and it looked like he was riding a trek OCLV carbon Madone frame setup for mountain (id bet anything that is the frame he was riding, it definetly wasnt a trek top fuel frame). Normally at the 24 hour race though he uses a trek top fuel.
Sam Hill rides a Norco Manik 29er.

the aforementioned Chris Eatough, Jeremiah Bishop, Sue Haywood, Jenny Smith are all members of the TRK/VW Pro MTB Team & - you guessed it! - ride TREKs. If you want to see who is on what Pro team, you can go to USA Cycling, mountain page, & look for teams...

I wouldn't say that, yahoo is a failing company. ;)

Oh and to answer the question, I don't know anymore, I stopped tracking pros a few years ago.
Well maybe Tom Pro...guy just left the development team for Whistler Mountain bike park. Should be interesting times ahead with a whole new team.

I love this place.

I suspect the Pro riders ride whatever bike their sponsors want them to ride.
If I were gonna go racing I'd be more interested to know what bikes the amatures (who have to pay for their own bikes) have chosen to ride.
All the cool kids ride Specialized.
To be nice to the OP:
Geoff Kabush is considered a pretty fast guy...here's what he rides (http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech/2007/probikes/?id=geoff_kabush_litespeed_sewanne).

Gary Fisher hates 29ers? I hope you are joking because if you aren't that is about one of the dumbest things I've read in a while.

The funny thing is that of the 3 examples I gave...you chose that one to call me out on...yet you left the other two obvious ones alone...
It's good to have you back Rutnick;)

I'm a PRO-duce Pro and I ride a road bike. :)
How's the new HT?
Climbs like a goat with a fire unda it's butt. Lovin' it so far.

Is that because trebon and wicks are freakishly tall.... also in terms of pros riding what their sponsors tell them too. Apparently Kona's XC riders won't ride their full suspension bikes.

A guy on are team bout one of Barry Wick's Hei Hei bikes. The thing is awesome. Their riders do ride their fullys but you rarely see a UCI course that is rough enough to benefit from one. Yah a 20 pound 29er isn't to shabby huh.
Some Gary Fischer riders are racing 29ers this year also.

What happened to the Ironhorse featured in DIRT? Man, by the time I get my bike rags read they are already out of date.
